Press release from: 3D-Micromac AG

Innovative Laser Micro Machining for production of photovoltaic systems, processing of semiconductors and medical applications

In the last years laser technologies not only confirmed their outstanding role for micro-machining but expanded it impressively. With enhancements in the areas of shorter pulses and shorter wavelengths there are growing possibilities to generate micro structures in all manufacturing sectors.

3D-Micromac AG shows new and interesting applications in laser micromachining – for instance in the area of photovoltaic applications and medical technology at Hannover Fair 2008, taking place from 21st - 25th April 2008, in Hannover, Germany. The new roll-to-roll laser machining for ablation of thin films on top of flexible substrates will be presented. A special feature of the 3D-Micromac roll-to-roll technology is the laser processing of substrates on the fly. That means a continuous winding process for reaching of a very high throughput. Even layers with different kinds of properties like polymer based solar cells, sensors, actuators, and electronic components can be processed.

Additionally an innovative and most economic solution for micro engraving of ceramics, plastics and some kind of metals will be in use at the show.

3D-Micromac will exhibit at Hannover Fair in Hall 6 Booth F 16 - I 4 within the laser special show “Laser for Micromachining” in the IVAM Product Market. For the first time IVAM shows innovative methods and laser applications for material machining and high-precision production in a special area.

The forum "Innovations for Industry" that accompanies the trade fair deals with the lasting trend subject of miniaturized industry solutions. Therefore international experts will address an audience with more than 60 presentations. On 23rd of April 2008, the forum concentrates with the so-called Laser Day on the subject of lasers for micromachining and micro production. All activities of 3D-Micromac on the field of applied laser technology will be introduced by a presentation „Ablating with Ultrashort Pulsed Lasers in Micro Machining“ at the forum.

Chemnitz, 03 June 2013. This June, 3D-Micromac from Chemnitz (Germany) will launch the first production equipment worldwide that can conduct the integrated series-connection of a thin-film solar module on one single platform and in one single production step. The new One-Stop-Patterning process (OSP) only structures the modules once all of the functional layers have been deposited on the substrate. This significantly simplifies the production process. In addition, the new
