Walk-in environmental chambers with a capacity of 1600 m3 are large, controlled environments used for testing products, materials, or components under precise temperature, humidity, and sometimes other conditions (e.g., light, vibration, or pressure). These chambers are commonly used in industries such as aerospace, automotive, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and materials science.

IEC 60068 Series - Environmental Testing International Standards

Military walk-in test chambers must comply with the IEC 60068 basic environmental test procedures, where IEC 60068-2-1 (Cold Tests) and IEC 60068-2-2 (Dry Heat Tests) specify military temperature testing ranges from -65°C to +200°C, with typical test durations of 48-96 hours.

MIL-STD-810 - US Military Environmental Engineering Standard

Section 516.7 explicitly requires walk-in test chambers to have rapid temperature change capability (≥10°C/min) and pass 24 thermal shock cycles, with chamber temperature uniformity controlled within ±2°C.

ISO 16750 - Road Vehicle Environmental Conditions Standard

For military vehicle component testing, Chapter 4 specifies that walk-in test chambers should achieve -40°C to +120°C temperature cycling while simultaneously simulating 5000m altitude (54kPa) low-pressure environments.

RTCA DO-160 - Airborne Equipment Environmental Tests
