Birgit Constant unveils "For Lord and Liege": the gripping second instalment of the Northumbria Trilogy

Historical-fiction enthusiasts prepare for a captivating medieval adventure thriller, set for release on 21 October 2025

Landshut, Germany - 14 October 2025 - Author Birgit Constant today announced the release of "For Lord and Liege", Book 2 in her epic series, the Northumbria Trilogy, set against the turbulent backdrop of 11th-century northern England. Scheduled for publication on 21 October 2025, this historical novel promises to immerse readers in local medieval history with a coming-of-age tale of ambition, loyalty and courage.

Set twenty years after the Norman Conquest of England, "For Lord and Liege" follows the teen protagonist trying to find his place in life while navigating the treacherous political landscape of the old kingdom of Northumbria. By weaving intricate historical details with themes of feudal allegiance and personal growth into the story, Constant's book offers local insights into a pivotal era in English history.

"I'm thrilled to share the next chapter of the Northumbria Trilogy with readers," said Birgit Constant. "This book delves deeper into the human struggles that affected all levels of society after the Norman Conquest, blending authentic medieval elements with a compelling historical thriller storyline that language enthusiasts and history buffs will adore."

Like Book 1, "For Lord and Liege" will appeal mostly to fans of Bernard Cornwell, Matthew Harffy, Peter Gibbons and Griff Hosker, but Constant suggests that everyone interested in the medieval history of Yorkshire give the novel a try. "Not only does the story take readers back to medieval Wilberfoss, but it also explores medieval York, giving readers a glimpse - and a smell - of the city as it was back then."
