A professional portrait of Jack G. Bernstein, a personal injury lawyer, standing in a grand library with tall bookshelves.

"I've personally worked on over 50,000 cases in my career, and I can tell you that insurance companies will do everything in their power to minimize what they pay out. That's why injured victims need someone who won't back down," said Jack G. Bernstein, founding partner of Bernstein & Maryanoff, Injury Attorneys in Miami. "I've spent more than 40 years making sure that corporations and insurance companies are held accountable when their negligence causes harm to innocent people."

Since opening his law practice in 1983, Mr. Bernstein has built a reputation as one of South Florida's most formidable personal injury advocates. His firm has secured over $80 million in verdicts and settlements for clients (as per Bernstein & Maryanoff, Injury Attorneys's Official Website: https://www.bernsteinandmaryanoff.com/ ), including a $3,000,000 truck accident settlement and a $2,250,000 medical malpractice verdict.

But for Mr. Bernstein, the work has always been deeply personal.

A Passion Born from Loss

"I lost a loved one to a drunk driver," said Mr. Bernstein, his voice carrying the weight of that experience. "When you go through something like that, when you see firsthand how one person's recklessness can destroy an entire family, it changes you. It makes you understand the devastation that accidents cause, not just physically, but emotionally and financially. That's why I fight so hard for my clients. I've been where they are. I know what they're going through."

That personal tragedy became the foundation for a career dedicated to helping others in the aftermath of life-altering accidents. Whether it's a car crash, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse or wrongful death, he approaches each case with the understanding that behind every file is a family in crisis.

"Families come to us during the worst moments of their lives. They're scared, they're angry, and they don't know where to turn," said Mr. Bernstein. "My job is to take that burden off their shoulders. I tell them, 'I've got your back,' and I mean it. I'm personally involved in every single case that comes through this firm."

Learning Honor from Judge Crespo

Mr. Bernstein's commitment to putting clients first stems from lessons learned early in his legal career. While attending the University of Miami School of Law, he clerked for the late Manuel A. Crespo, Esq., who served as President of the Cuban American Bar Association and later as a Circuit Court Judge.
"Judge Crespo taught me everything that matters in this profession," Bernstein explained. "He told me three things that I've carried with me every day since: put your client first, live up to the word 'honor,' and give respect to all people. Those principles have guided every decision I've made in my practice."

Before law school, Bernstein graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Fredonia, where he majored in accounting with minors in economics and politics. He was named President of the Freshman Honor Society and was selected by the university president to serve on a special cabinet that advised on campus improvements, an early indication of his strategic thinking and leadership abilities.
"My background in accounting gives me an edge that a lot of lawyers don't have," said Bernstein. "I can look at financial records, medical billing, and insurance documents and immediately spot the discrepancies. Insurance companies try to hide behind complex calculations and confusing paperwork, but I can cut through all of that and show exactly what my client is owed."

The Fight Against Corporate Negligence

Over four decades, Bernstein has handled virtually every type of personal injury case imaginable: auto accidents, truck crashes, motorcycle collisions, slip and falls, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, brain injuries, wrongful death and product liability cases.

"The common thread in almost every case I handle is corporate negligence," said Mr. Bernstein. "Whether it's an insurance company trying to deny a legitimate claim, a trucking company that didn't properly maintain its fleet or a nursing home that's understaffed and putting residents at risk it all comes down to companies putting profits over people's safety."

"I go after the decision-makers at the top of these organizations," he continued. "The people who made the choice to cut corners, to prioritize money over human lives. Those are the ones who need to be held accountable and that's exactly what I do."

Mr. Bernstein is admitted to practice in both Florida and Nevada, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th and 11th Circuits.

Building a Powerhouse Firm

Shortly after opening his practice in 1983, Bernstein formed a partnership with Neil I. Maryanoff, who has been practicing law since 1978. Together, they built Bernstein & Maryanoff into one of South Florida's premier personal injury firms, with a team of six attorneys and 34 support personnel.

"Neil and I have worked together for decades, and we've built this firm on trust and a shared commitment to our clients," said Bernstein. "We have the legal resources and financial backing to take on even the largest corporations and insurance companies. We're not afraid to go to trial, and the insurance companies know it."

The firm operates on a contingency fee basis, meaning clients pay nothing unless the case is won, a policy Mr. Bernstein considers essential to provide access to justice.

"A lot of people who've been injured can't afford to pay legal fees upfront," Mr. Bernstein explained. "They're already dealing with medical bills, lost wages and mounting expenses. The last thing they need is to worry about how they're going to afford an attorney. That's why we don't charge a penny unless we win. It levels the playing field."

Strategic Thinking and Systems

One of Bernstein's defining characteristics is his strategic approach to case management. For each case, he handpicks the legal team, including the right experts and investigators, to build the strongest possible presentation.

"I've developed systems over 40 years that allow this firm to operate efficiently while still giving every client personal attention," said Mr. Bernstein. "I oversee the progress of every case. I demand excellence from my staff, and I insist that ethical rules be strictly followed at all times. A satisfied client is our best source for new clients, and that's because we deliver results."

Bernstein personally wrote the majority of the content on the firm's website, drawing from his experience with more than 50,000 cases.

"I wanted our website to be a resource for people," he said. "When someone is searching for answers after an accident, I want them to find real information written by someone who's actually been in the trenches. Not generic legal jargon, but practical guidance based on real cases I've handled."

Knowledge Is Power

"Knowledge is power," Bernstein often says. "I make sure my clients understand their legal rights, the claims process and what to expect every step of the way. An informed client is an empowered client."

That philosophy extends to every aspect of the firm's practice. Mr. Bernstein makes himself available to clients, often responding to questions day or night. He added "Any person struggling with their personal injury case can contact our firm 24/7 by calling on our toll free no. +1 (800) 429-4529"
"When someone is going through a crisis, they need to know their lawyer is accessible," Bernstein said. "I don't hide behind receptionists or email. If a client needs to talk to me, I answer the phone. That's what real representation looks like."

Client testimonials consistently highlight this level of personal attention. Many of his clients appreciate that Jack himself calls and assures them that he will guide them. It is even quoted in many testimonials when his clients need him, he makes himself available on call no matter the time of day. This showcases his willingness to go the extra mile.

Relentless Negotiation

Bernstein's reputation for relentless negotiation has earned him respect and wariness from insurance companies across Florida.

"Insurance companies know that when Jack Bernstein is on the other side, they're not going to get away with a lowball offer," he said. "I tell my clients not to accept settlements that are unacceptable, even when it means turning down money on the table. I know what their cases are worth, and I won't let them settle for less."

Many of his past clients are amazed by his knowledge and skills. According to their firsthand experience, the advice that Jack gave to turn down low-ball offers has paid off big time.

A Legacy of Justice

At 41 years into his legal career, Mr. Bernstein shows no signs of slowing down. He remains personally involved in every case, driven by the same passion that led him to open his practice in 1983.

"These are real people with real problems," Mr. Bernstein said. "They're not just case numbers. They're mothers, fathers, children families who are struggling to put their lives back together after someone else's negligence turned their world upside down."

"Holding wrongdoers accountable motivates me every single day," he continued. "When I walk into a courtroom or sit across the table from an insurance adjuster, I'm fighting for people who can't fight for themselves. That's what this profession is supposed to be about."

Bernstein's commitment to justice extends beyond his individual cases to a broader mission of making South Florida safer.

"Every verdict we win, every settlement we secure it sends a message to corporations and insurance companies that they can't get away with putting profits over people," said Mr. Bernstein. "When we hold them accountable, it forces them to change their behavior. That makes everyone safer."

The Bernstein Promise

For anyone who has been injured in an accident in Miami or anywhere in South Florida, Jack G. Bernstein's message is clear.

"Don't talk to the insurance company before you talk to me," he urges. "They're going to try to get you to settle for pennies on the dollar. They're going to make you feel like you don't have options. But you do. Call me. Let me evaluate your case for free. Let me show you what your case is really worth. And then let me fight to get you every dollar you deserve."

"Remember," Mr. Bernstein added, "Jack's got your back."

With over $80 million recovered for clients, admission to practice in multiple federal courts, and a four-decade track record of results, Jack G. Bernstein continues to stand as one of South Florida's most trusted advocates for the injured. https://www.bernsteinandmaryanoff.com/jack-g-bernstein-esq/
