Memblaze Showcases New PBlaze7 7A40 SSDs to Power the Future

October 8-9, 2025 - Memblaze, a global leader in enterprise PCIe SSDs and solutions, showcased new additions to its PBlaze7 7A40 series at Tech Week Singapore, one of the most influential technology events in Asia. Featuring higher performance, ultra-high capacity, and exceptional energy efficiency, the new SSDs are designed to meet the rapidly growing demands of cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI).

With more than 14 years of expertise in enterprise PCIe SSD development, Memblaze has built a strong reputation for industry-leading performance, proven reliability, stable supply, and responsive service. To date, the company has shipped millions of SSDs worldwide, powering mission-critical workloads in databases, virtualization, cloud computing, big data, and AI - enabling hundreds of customers to enhance efficiency, drive innovation, and maintain market competitiveness.

Enhanced Performance and Efficiency for Demanding Workloads

Targeted at AI inference, high-performance computing, and other I/O-intensive workloads, the new PBlaze7 7A40 models deliver up to 14.2GB/s sequential read and 12.7GB/s sequential write throughput, representing a significant improvement over previous generation. Building on its achievement as the world's first TLC SSD to deliver 1M steady-state 4K random write IOPS, the PBlaze7 7A40 now pushes performance even further - up to 1.15M 4K random write IOPS and 3.4M 4K random read IOPS.

In addition to enhanced performance, the PBlaze7 7A40 also delivers industry-leading efficiency. Its typical read power is just 13 W, while write power remains below 20 W - offering more than 30% higher performance-per-watt compared to peer PCIe 5.0 products. This efficiency reduces overall SSD power consumption in large-scale deployments, alleviates cooling challenges, and enhances long-term data center reliability.

The new PBlaze7 7A40 series SSDs come in capacities from 1.6TB to 15.36TB, giving customers the flexibility to balance cost, performance, and capacity.

PBlaze7 7A40 Ocean, Ultra-High Capacity up to 122.88TB

As AI continues to advance, data centers face growing demands for both compute and storage density. leveraging the latest 2Tb NAND flash die, the PBlaze7 7A40 has been expanded into the PBlaze7 7A40 Ocean Series, offering capacities from 15.36TB to 122.88TB. This enables nearly 3PB of storage in a standard 2U server - delivering more than ten times the density of mainstream storage systems.

In terms of performance, the PBlaze7 7A40 Ocean supports PCIe 5.0 and delivers up to 14.2GB/s sequential read and 3.1M 4K random read IOPS, roughly double the performance of mainstream large-capacity SSDs. These advancements not only enable customers to meet business requirements while reducing storage server count and TCO, but also free up critical rack space and power resources for additional GPU nodes - further accelerating AI training and inference efficiency.

Driving the Future of Cloud and AI Infrastructure

With breakthroughs in performance, capacity, and energy efficiency, the PBlaze7 7A40 series underscores Memblaze's commitment to redefining the boundaries of enterprise storage. Tech Week Singapore serves as an excellent platform for global technology exchange, and Memblaze will continue working with industry partners to unlock new opportunities and accelerate the evolution of cloud and AI infrastructure.

The new PBlaze7 7A40 SSDs will be available for sampling later this year. For more information, please contact us at contact@memblaze.com.
