Moscow, Russia - The National Centre "Russia" recently hosted the second international "Inventing the Future" symposium, a key part of the global "Open Dialogue" ecosystem [https://dialog.russia.ru/en/]exploring our world's trajectory amid profound change. The event brought together representatives from all of Russia's regions and 85 countries worldwide, including members of the SCO, BRICS, Europe, and the United States.

The global economy is in the throes of a revolution, driven by the rising influence of the "Global Majority." As Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, noted, it is the companies, products, and cultural codes of these nations that are becoming the new wellspring of ideas and emotion.

"The success of this new generation of brands isn't about following old blueprints," Oreshkin stated. "It's about creating unique experiences. We see a growing global appetite for products and projects from the Global Majority precisely because they offer the world something fresh and unexpected - a distinct and accelerating trend."

He framed this as a new stage of competition - a "battle of experiences." Victory goes to those who offer not just a product or service, but an entire ecosystem of meaning and sensation.

"This isn't a line of standard cliches," Oreshkin emphasized. "It's a vast matrix. On one axis, you have a diversity of services; on the other, a diversity of products. Each cell in this matrix is a unique product, a unique experience that simply didn't exist before."

He added that modern technology is making these experiences more accessible and vivid than ever, opening up new formats for global interaction - from art and design to gastronomy and science. Russia, he said, is becoming an integral part of this global process, where experiences are becoming a universal language between cultures.

Also, Maksim Oreshkin announced the launch of the essay submission process for the 2026 competition: "I am pleased to announce that we are launching a new, second International Essay Competition. Once again, we invite young, energetic writers from diverse professions and cultures to share their vision for the future: the future of the individual, society, economies, and our entire planet."

The importance of international dialogue in this new "experience economy" was echoed by Mehret Mandefro, an Emmy-nominated producer and screenwriter from Ethiopia.

"I am a storyteller. I believe in the power of words in all their forms," Mandefro said. "That's why I think it's so vital to gather input from across the globe and give people the platform to express themselves. True understanding feels like a scarce resource today, and we won't move toward a better future unless we truly listen to what people are saying. I think this forum is a beautiful step in that direction."

"We are clearly living through a unique historical moment," said Rakhim Oshakbayev, Chief Economist at Kazakhstan's TALAP Center for Applied Research. "The global economy is fundamentally restructuring its foundations, moving away from the familiar architecture of globalization built around a single reserve currency. But the new architecture hasn't emerged yet - the alternative is just being born. This is a historic narrative unfolding right before our eyes."

Oshakbayev also praised the atmosphere of the "Open Dialogue" session, calling it "a rare opportunity to capture the true zeitgeist." He highlighted the platform's core principle of "equality and fairness for the development of all nations and peoples," and commended the discussion's thoughtful design, where "each presentation contributed concrete ideas, innovations, and real-world cases, not just general declarations."

Felipe Buitrago, Colombia's Deputy Minister of the Orange (Creative) Economy, spoke on how cultural narratives build a nation's competitiveness and soft power. He stressed the need to actively support content creators.

"We must realize that we can provide creators with specific resources and support, fostering an environment that nurtures creativity," Buitrago noted. "It's about finding the right balance in offering various opportunities - access to locations, skills development, and the necessary infrastructure."
