The inauguration ceremony was witnessed by Wan Gang, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and President of the World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC), Yu Junqing, Secretary of the CAST Secretariat, Zhu Huarong, Chairman of WNEVDO, Hou Fushen, Vice Chairmen of WNEVDO, and Chris MASON, Vice Chairmen of WNEVDO, and Jochen GOLLER, director of BMW Group representing member organizations. Zhang Xuming, Secretary-General of WNEVDO, presided over the ceremony.
Co-founded by the China Society of Automotive Engineers, China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., and the FISITA (International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies), WNEVDO aims to facilitate the green and intelligent transformation of the automotive industry while promoting sustainable development. It will establish a "five-in-one" development framework to unite global automotive stakeholders, serving as a pivotal platform for international multilateral cooperation and industrial governance.
The establishment of WNEVDO marks a new start for global collaborative development in the new energy vehicle sector. Moving forward, WNEVDO will remain committed to advancing the green and intelligent transformation of the global automotive industry through collective action.
The 2025 World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC 2025) is jointly hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology, Hainan Provincial People's Government, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and organized by the China Society of Automotive Engineers, Chebaihui Research Institute, Hainan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Hainan Association for Science and Technology, and Haikou Municipal People's Government. WNEVC 2025 will feature 3 plenary forums, 15 thematic sessions, and 2 high-level closed-door meetings. Discussions will center on topics including "NEV50@2035: Multiple Pathways & Collaborative Development," "Cutting-edge Technologies & Integrated Innovation," and "Hainan Free Trade Port & Global Automotive Industry Development Opportunities," adopting a hybrid online-offline format for knowledge exchange.
