Quantum dot light-emitting diodes are an active light-emitting display technology based on the principle of quantum dot electroluminescence. It was first reported in 1994. Quantum dot light-emitting diodes are usually composed of five parts: anode, hole injection and transport layer, quantum dot light-emitting layer, electron injection and transport layer, and cathode. Its working principle is that the electrons and holes on both sides converge in the quantum dot layer to form photons, and emit light through the recombination of photons, thereby realizing the light emission of the quantum dot layer under electron excitation. QLED has the advantages of wide color gamut, high brightness, long life, fast response, ultra-light and thin, low energy consumption, high purity and high image quality. Compared with OLED, QLED effectively avoids the shortcomings of OLED such as unstable light emission, unadjustable color, and complex operation process. At the same time, QLED is superior to LCD and OLED in color gamut, and can theoretically reach 140% NTSC color gamut, which can better present natural colors. In terms of contrast, QLED and OLED are both based on self-luminous technology, which will be significantly better than traditional liquid crystal display technology based on passive light emission in terms of contrast. In addition, QLED's energy consumption is relatively low, and the driving voltage required at the same brightness is lower.
