Divorced Dad Support Launches to Provide Mentorship and Advocate for Fathers Navigating Family Court

09-26-2025 08:49 AM CET | Health & Medicine

Press release from: Divorced Dad Support, Inc.

Inspired by his own journey through the family court system, Nicholas Hall today launched Divorced Dad Support, a nonprofit dedicated to offering mentorship and advocacy for fathers. The organization aims to provide a supportive community and resources to help fathers navigate the challenges of co-parenting and building strong relationships with their children.

Hall's experience with the Wood County, Ohio family court showed him the unique difficulties fathers can face. Despite having limited visitation with his teenage daughter, he found himself in a position where he was being held accountable for common teenage behaviors and miscommunications. This realization led him to see a significant need for a support network that could help other fathers through similar situations.

"My goal with Divorced Dad Support is to provide the support and community I wish I had," said Hall. "In the family court system, it is common for fathers to feel that they are presumed guilty and that the system is biased against them. While the legal standard in family court is not guilty until proven innocent, several factors contribute to this feeling. This perception is fueled by a mix of historical biases, the subjective nature of the "best interest of the child" standard, and the unique challenges fathers often face in demonstrating their parental value within the court system."

The nonprofit's services will include peer-to-peer mentorship, a forum for fathers to share their experiences and recommended resources.

"Many fathers feel isolated or misunderstood by the legal system and society. We want to offer mentorship from experienced dads, share resources, and advocate for clearer communication and fairer consideration for all parents in the family court system. It's about building a better future for fathers and their children," said Hall.
