RELDATA EXTENDS SIMPLIFIED iSCSI STORAGE MANAGEMENT MODEL TO NAS USERS AT GARTNER SYMPOSIUM
GARTNER SYMPOSIUM/ITxpo, LAS VEGAS, NV., APRIL 7, 2008 – RELDATA, the leading supplier of a new generation of consolidated and unified storage solutions, today announced a new adaptive storage wizard for NAS users from Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2008. The availability of intuitive NAS Adaptive Storage Wizards for RELDATA’s 9240 iSCSI Unified Storage Systems and Gateways, brings the same level of simplified storage administration and cost savings to NAS content that RELDATA delivered to iSCSI SAN customers with its initial Adaptive Storage Wizards™."By extending our simplified management model to include NAS services, iSCSI customers can eliminate the purchase of separate NAS storage boxes and seamlessly migrate to a cost effective enterprise storage infrastructure," said David Hubbard, RELDATA CEO. "By dramatically simplifying storage operations, RELDATA Adaptive Storage Wizards attack one of the largest cost centers for enterprise storage, resulting in increased IT productivity, reduced human error, improved application availability and lower storage TCO."
RELDATA Adaptive Storage Wizards guide storage administrators through the day-to-day management of complex storage tasks, such as disk virtualization, provisioning iSCSI storage to applications, assigning NAS storage to users, and setting security/performance parameters. Each RELDATA wizard adapts by seamlessly and transparently linking to the three other wizards to quickly and accurately complete the storage task requested. Additionally, repetitive and complex storage tasks can be automated with RELbot™ task automation technology# to be done faster and more reliably.
"The addition of integrated NAS Adaptive Storage Wizards to iSCSI Adaptive Storage Wizards and RELbot task automation, will really simplify the day-to-day management of our high performance 10GbE RELDATA SAN/NAS storage infrastructure," Andy Davenport, Systems and Networks Group Leader at Harvey Mudd College. "With video streaming and online learning one minute, to testing hardware built by the college’s own engineering students the next, performance, flexibility and resilience are pushed to their extremes. RELDATA’s innovative automation tools allow me to manage our environment more reliably and efficiently."
RELDATA’s heterogeneous virtualization functionality allows administrators to redeploy and integrate their legacy third party disk arrays into a RELDATA storage infrastructure, maximizing the customers ROI on disk purchases.
"RELDATA’s focus on simplifying storage operations helps us offer our clients unrivalled quality and efficiency," said Sami Rahman, CEO of eDirect Impact. "With RELDATA’s integrated iSCSI SAN & NAS Adaptive Storage Wizards, we will be able to manage the day-to-day storage management tasks more efficiently and reliably." eDirect Impact is a leading innovator for law firms and corporate legal departments and sets a new standard for best practices in the electronic discovery industry.
NAS Adaptive Storage Wizards are integrated into RELDATA’s RELvos™ Virtualization Operating System and available immediately on 9240 Unified Storage Systems and Gateways. RELDATA NAS Services are available as a separately purchased license and includes a robust implementation of CIFS/NFS, an integrated management interface including NAS Adaptive Wizards and RELbots, and heterogeneous storage virtualization to incorporate any legacy third-party disks.
