The Chrysalis BREW Project has revealed the winners of the 2025 BREW Poetry Award, recognising poets whose work explores human experience with insight and craft.

Overall Recognition

Lauren Mills' Letter to the Editor of the Old Farmer's Almanac, Robert Bailey Thomas has been named Judges' Poem of the Year. The poem uses a letter format to address a 19th-century figure, combining history, personal reflection, and humour. It reflects on memory, the passage of time, and connections across generations.

Judges' Picks

In the Tertiary Category, Lauren Mills' poem also received recognition. Yvette Rejuso's Portrait After Breath was selected in the Open Category, and Michael Pope's Ink-stained Silence won the Secondary School Category.

Community Choice Winners

The Community's Poem of the Year is Chris Biscuiti's The Believer, noted for its honest portrayal of family, caregiving, and everyday life.
