Singaporean Creator Launches Starfall Catastrophe, a Sci-Fi Trading Card Game on KickstarterSingapore, 21 September 2025 Independent creator Lim Boon Chuan has launched Starfall Catastrophe, a brand-new trading card game (TCG) now live on Kickstarter. Combining cosmic lore, tactical gameplay, and collectible artwork, the project has already captured attention among indie game enthusiasts and TCG fans worldwide.
In Starfall Catastrophe, players step into the roles of legendary heroes fighting to protect a collapsing universe. Each hero commands a unique 40-card deck-built with a balance of Trap, Action, Ally cards-that leverages distinct strategies tied to four attributes: Tactics, Skill, Resilience, and Mysticism. The game's first hero, Doctor Boon, leads with cunning tactics and quantum trickery. The second hero, High Priestess Nyra, will soon debut with her mystical allies and celestial origins.
"Growing up, I always loved both mathematics and storytelling," said creator Lim Boon Chuan. "This game brings them together in a system that's simple to learn, but deep enough for endless strategy. I wanted to build a TCG where every hero feels unique, yet still fits into a larger shared universe."
The Kickstarter campaign offers backers a chance to be the first to own Starfall Catastrophe.
The campaign also features stretch goals, including foil hero upgrades and signed collector editions.
Starfall Catastrophe is designed for quick 20-30 minute matches, making it accessible for newcomers while offering depth for seasoned TCG players. With its blend of rich lore, cosmic artwork, and tactical mechanics, it aims to stand out in the growing indie card game market.
