Argentina's first commercial-scale DLE success. Eramet launched its Centenario-Ratones project, delivering its first lithium carbonate in late 2024 with a design capacity of 24,000 tons per year. Ramp-up continues through 2025, marking the first large-scale operational success for sorbent and ion-exchange DLE.
U.S. federal financing in California. The Department of Energy's Loan Programs Office approved conditional multi-billion-dollar backing for EnergySource Minerals' Salton Sea project, with targeted output of 20,000 tons per year lithium hydroxide. This is the largest U.S. government support to date for DLE deployment.
Arkansas as a new lithium basin. Standard Lithium and Equinor advanced the South West Arkansas project with a $225 million federal grant. Planned in two stages, the project targets up to 45,000 tons per year of production.
Technology upgrades. Lilac Solutions introduced its fourth-generation ion-exchange media at Lake Resources' Kachi project, boosting recovery rates to 90 percent, reducing costs, and minimizing water use.
