"Puutpulpa" translates to football in Martu Wangka, with the ball's artwork symbolising journey, connection, and resilience. The circular motifs represent community and paths walked by ancestors, while the "U" symbols reflect the presence of grandmothers and daughters, paying tribute to the enduring influence of women in sport.

Puutpulpa will be used in all matches played during Rounds 3 and 4 of the AFLW 2025 season, aligning with the league's broader cultural recognition initiatives. Six AFLW clubs will take on their traditional place names, such as Walyalup (Fremantle) and Narrm (Melbourne), further deepening the connection between country, culture, and competition.
The AFLW Indigenous Round will also feature Indigenous-designed guernseys, ceremonial acknowledgements, and community-led initiatives that highlight the importance of heritage and inclusivity within elite women's sport.
