Blocked Polyurethane Curing Agent

Blocked polyurethane curing agents are crosslinkers that temporarily inactivate isocyanate functional groups through the use of blocking agents (such as alcohols, amines, and esters). This prevents side reactions of NCO groups with water, alcohols, and other substances during storage and transportation, resulting in excellent storage stability and environmental compatibility. Under curing conditions (typically heating to 100-180°C), the blocking agent dissociates, releasing active NCO groups, which crosslink with hydroxyl groups in the resin to form a high-performance polyurethane network. The resulting cured coating exhibits excellent water and chemical resistance, adhesion, and mechanical strength, making it widely used in high-performance coatings such as automotive coatings, metal corrosion protection, wood coatings, electronic packaging, and textile finishing. As a key additive in low-VOC and environmentally friendly formulations, blocked polyurethane curing agents are continuously developing towards low-temperature deblocking, rapid reaction, and high crosslinking efficiency.
