Scythe Studio, a trusted name in the embedded systems and Qt consulting world for over five years, is taking a big step forward. As of now we are excited to announce that Scythe Studio has rebranded to Somco Software. This is a big moment for us and we want to share the journey with you.

The Rebranding Journey: From Studio to Software Powerhouse

If you've been with us from the beginning you've seen us grow. When we first launched Scythe Studio we were a small team of engineers with a single focus on Qt. Over time we've expanded our expertise and capabilities and become one of the largest Qt and embedded consulting firms in the world. Our work, especially in the embedded systems space, has allowed us to grow, innovate and push the boundaries of technology.

But as we continued to expand our services and take on more complex projects we realized that the term "studio" no longer fit. We are far more than just a consultancy; we're a team of experts providing end to end embedded solutions, hardware, firmware, UI/UX and cloud integrations.

Our new name Somco Software reflects this. The name is inspired by the ancient Greek word soma meaning "body" which represents how we bring all the parts of a device - hardware, firmware, user interfaces and more - into a seamless whole. This name also highlights our long standing commitment to the medical technology sector which has been at the core of our business since the beginning.
