Ajeenkya D Y Patil University Strengthens National Unity Through Har Ghar Tiranga Celebration

Ajeenkya D Y Patil University (ADYPU) recently hosted a powerful cultural session honoring the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, reaffirming its commitment to instilling national values and unity among students. The event, attended by university leaders and distinguished guests, served as a reminder of India's rich heritage and the shared responsibility of every citizen in upholding its ideals.

The program commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by Dr. Kamaljeet Kaur, Executive Vice President, alongside Registrar Dr. Sudhakar Shine, Dr. Anil S. Maheshwari, Director IQAC, Dr. Farook Bashir Sayyad, Principal ADYPSOE, Dr. Vijay Kulkarni, Dean Student Service Division, and guest of honor Bageshree M. Manthalkar, Independent Woman Director on the Board of Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd.

In her address, Dr. Kamaljeet Kaur spoke on the significance of India's independence, while the highlight of the session was an inspiring talk by Bageshree Manthalkar. Her reflections on freedom fighters such as Babu Genu and Shirish Kumar, alongside stories of partition, emphasized the importance of rejecting division and embracing unity.
"Displaying the Tiranga is not just a tradition but a profound act of respect," said Bageshree Manthalkar. "It connects us to the courage of past generations and inspires us to live with equality, responsibility, and unwavering commitment to the nation."

ADYPU leaders highlighted that cultural events like Har Ghar Tiranga are essential in nurturing a sense of belonging, pride, and patriotism among students. By blending heritage with education, the university continues to create an environment that prepares students to be responsible citizens of tomorrow.

The event concluded with the distribution of flags to students, followed by a meditative Padmasana, encouraging personal reflection on the meaning of the national flag in daily life.

Through initiatives like this, ADYPU reinforces its role not only as an institution of higher learning but also as a community dedicated to strengthening the values of unity, diversity, and national pride.
