Gladney Darroh, Houston, Texas, US.

Industry veteran urges business leaders to use their platform to create impact for good-and support solutions like creating voice exercise access for those living with Parkinson's
Gladney Darroh, a respected entrepreneur, philanthropist, and founder of Piper-Morgan Associates, is featured this month in an exclusive career-spanning interview that highlights both his long-standing leadership in the recruitment industry and his current advocacy for Loud and Clear-a free voice exercise app for individuals living with Parkinson's disease.

In the candid Q&A, Darroh shares how his decades-long career, built on resilience and ethical recruiting, led him to support causes that go far beyond the boardroom.

"Helping people succeed has always been at the core of what I do," said Darroh. "That's why Loud and Clear [https://loudandclear.io/], a 501c(3) group, matters so much- this free app gives people something even more powerful than a job. It gives them back their voice, and with it restores family relationships and independence."

Darroh has supported and personally funded the development of Loud and Clear since 2018, after his son, a Certified SLP, first proposed the app. This mobile tool now reaches users in over 100 countries, providing accessible voice-strengthening exercises at no cost for people with Parkinson's. The app has also attracted support from medical professionals and global sponsors such as Abbott.

Parkinson's and Speech Loss: A Growing Issue

More than 10 million people worldwide are living with Parkinson's disease. According to the Parkinson's Foundation, up to 90% of individuals with Parkinson's will experience changes in their voice or speech-often early in the progression of the disease. Many lose confidence, social connection, and independence as a result.

"Losing your voice can mean losing your identity," Darroh said. "It's a silent suffering most people don't see-but it affects everything from relationships to daily safety."

Leadership Beyond Business

The interview also explores Darroh's values-first approach to business. From selling shoes in high school to founding one of Houston's top recruiting firms, his story is one of perseverance and principle.

He reflects, "You don't build a sustainable business with shortcuts. You build it brick by brick over the long term, always putting ethical business practices and caring people relationships first. Do that, and the business will follow."

That philosophy flows into his philanthropic work, including his lengthy role on the board of Today's Harbor for Children as both member and Chairman, his three year stewardship of the new Harbor Academy (K-8th) as the school's first President, and the creation of This American Family, a musical drama that raised funds for Today's Harbor and breast cancer research at Baylor College of Medicine.

Create the Change You Want to See

"Tears alone won't change a thing," Darroh emphasized. He encourages readers to ask themselves how they can make a difference, and to act ("now is the best time") by using what they already have-skills, time, or simply awareness.

"Look around," he suggests. "Your greatest impact might not come from your job title or your bank account-it might easily come from what you choose to care about and taking action."
