Tideway CEO Richard Muirhead to Speak at SAP Virtualization Week

NEW YORK and LONDON: April 7, 2008 – Richard Muirhead, CEO and Founder of Tideway, will examine change control and manageability challenges in the virtual SAP realm at SAP Virtualization Week 2008 in Palo Alto, California. The event, which takes place April 7-10 at the SAP Co-Innovation Lab, will showcase the latest technology solutions and products offered by SAP and its virtualization partners. Muirhead’s session, Controlling Change of SAP in a Virtual Environment, will take place on Wednesday, April 9, at 1:15 pm PST.

In his presentation, Muirhead will offer tips on tracking and comparing changes over time to various components for SAP software packages, analyzing the business impact of changes in multi-tiered applications and mapping dependencies from SAP business applications down to the underlying infrastructure. He will also explore how important it is for SAP customers to be able to index and visualize virtual machines (VMs), map their dependencies to physical hosts and identify application components on a VM.
SAP Virtualization Week will bring together industry experts, SAP partners and customers to demonstrate how they are successfully running SAP applications in virtualized environments. Attendees will learn about the newest virtualization solutions available and see first hand how virtualization co-innovation is being deployed in real-world scenarios.

For the last decade, Richard Muirhead, CEO and Founder of Tideway, has commercialized ways to make advanced data center management effective, efficient and fun. He co-founded Orchestream, which was acquired by Metasolv (NASDAQ:MSLV) in 2002 and it in turn by Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) in 2006. Richard was a finalist for the UK Technology Innovation & Growth Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2006. He is a regular speaker at industry events, frequently quoted in the press, a member of the Cambridge Computer Lab Ring and the IEEE and a participant in the IETF and TeleManagement Forums. This will be his first appearance at SAP Virtualization Week.
