Rare Steve Jobs-Signed 1976 Apple Check Listing All Three Co-Founders Up for Auction

A rare 1976 Apple Computer Co. check filled out and signed by Steve Jobs-listing the names of all three original Apple co-founders, including Ronald Wayne-is currently up for bid at RR Auction.

Dated March 28, 1976, just four days before Apple's official founding, the $47.50 check was made out to Pacific Telephone and signed "steven jobs" in lowercase letters. What makes this check especially unique is the writing on the back: in the hand of a bank teller, the endorsement includes the full names of Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, along with Apple's original business address at 770 Welch Road, Palo Alto-a mail drop used while Jobs and Wozniak were still working out of the now-famous garage.

Wayne's name is rarely seen on Apple-related artifacts. He famously sold his 10% stake in the company just 12 days after its founding for $800-an amount that would have been worth billions today.

"It is the only Apple check that lists all three original co-founders-Jobs, Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne-on the same transaction," said Bobby Livingston, Executive VP at RR Auction.

This check, marked "Check No. 6," predates Apple's official incorporation and is among the earliest financial documents tied to the company. Most known Apple checks from this era are dated later in 1976 and typically list only Jobs and Wozniak. The inclusion of all three founders makes this one of the most complete surviving artifacts from Apple's origin story.

This latest check could set a new benchmark for Apple memorabilia, given its condition, provenance, and the historical moment it captures.
