BluBroadband Completes Gigabit Internet Rollout Across Fort Walton Beach
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. - Local internet provider BluBroadband has completed upgrades to its entire network, bringing symmetrical gigabit internet speeds to homes throughout Fort Walton Beach. The announcement marks the final phase of BluBroadband's GigaBlu rollout, which first launched on Okaloosa Island in December 2023.With that launch, BluBroadband became the first-and still only-provider to offer symmetrical gigabit speeds on Okaloosa Island. Now, after months of infrastructure upgrades across its fixed-wireless network, those same speeds are available citywide.
"We launched GigaBlu on Okaloosa Island back in December and have been thrilled with the response," said BluBroadband CEO Spencer Pous. "Completing this upgrade across Fort Walton Beach means residents no longer have to wait on fiber construction or be locked into promo pricing. We're delivering gigabit speeds with the simplicity and reliability our customers expect."
The GigaBlu platform includes two internet plans:
GigaBlu Starter: 300 Mbps download and upload - $45/month
GigaBlu Max: 1 Gbps download and upload - $85/month
Both plans include unlimited data, no contracts, and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. According to BluBroadband, it currently offers the lowest non-promotional gigabit pricing in Okaloosa County.
Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Fort Walton Beach, BluBroadband has built its reputation on responsive local service and transparency-positioning itself as a hometown alternative to national providers and cable companies. While Fort Walton Beach has a few fiber competitors, BluBroadband's fixed-wireless network eliminates the need for construction delays or trenching, allowing faster installation for most homes.
Residents can check availability or sign up for GigaBlu service at blubroadband.com [https://www.blubroadband.com/residential/internet] or by calling 850-659-6650.
