11th WaCA Mining Summit & Expo 2025: Driving Innovation and Sustainability in Mining
This year's conference will explore key themes such as responsible mining, battery minerals, investment strategies, and artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM), with world-class speakers and thought leaders sharing their insights, including:
• Dr Assheton Stewart Carter, Executive Chair of TDi Sustainability and Chief Investment Officer of Impact Capital Limited (UK), who will discuss "Future Proofing WACA's Leadership in Responsible Mining".

Ghana's Bold Steps in Critical Minerals
Ghana is rapidly positioning itself as a leader in the global battery mineral value chain. The government recently signed agreements for lithium extraction and local refining, marking a historic milestone for value addition in Africa. The Green Minerals Policy, launched by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, emphasizes responsible mining, local content development, and downstream processing, ensuring that communities and the economy fully benefit from mineral wealth.
Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources of Ghana, stated: "Ghana is committed to becoming a hub for responsible and sustainable mining of critical minerals that power the clean energy transition. Our policies focus on maximizing in-country value addition, job creation, and transparency in the sector."
WaCA Mining 2025 will be officiated by Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor. It will feature high-level discussions, exhibitions, and networking opportunities, making it the premier platform for forging partnerships in West & Central Africa's mining industry.
