Freedom City Announces Major Summer Events to Support Food Security and Community Resilience

Toronto, ON - Freedom City, a Toronto-based charity serving the GTA's most vulnerable populations, is proud to announce two major events this summer aimed at celebrating community impact and raising essential funds for continued programming.
Founded in 2014 by Pastor Michael Gomes, Freedom City has grown to become a leading grassroots organization tackling food insecurity, homelessness, and poverty across Toronto, Mississauga, Durham, and surrounding regions. In 2023 alone, Freedom City provided over 300,000 meals and distributed more than 2 million pounds of food since 2022. The organization now supports 4,000 individuals each week through eight active community programs.

Freedom City Fundraising Dinner
July 26, 2025
This annual event brings together supporters, donors, and stakeholders to reflect on Freedom City's achievements and mobilize resources for the year ahead. Media are invited to attend with complimentary admission available upon request.
Freedom Fest
End of August 2025 - St. James Town, Toronto
Freedom Fest is the organization's signature community event, expected to draw 500 to 1,000 participants. The celebration will feature live entertainment, local vendors, essential services, and community-building activities in one of Toronto's most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods.
