Award-winning Local Author Announces New Oregon-based Mystery, Book-signing Tour

Portland, OR, January 11, 2017 – Award-winning Camas author and playwright Gary Corbin has announced the release of his third novel, The Mountain Man’s Bride, and will embark on an immediate two-month, five-stop book-signing tour in the greater Portland area.

The Mountain Man’s Bride will be officially released to bookstores on February 8, 2017, although it is available for pre-order on Amazon.com and on the author’s web page (www.garycorbinwriting.com).

The Mountain Man’s Bride is the second in his Mountain Man Mysteries series from Double Diamond Publishing of Camas, WA. A third novel in the series, The Mountain Man’s Badge, is expected in 2018.

The Mountain Man’s Bride sees the return of rustic forester Lehigh Carter battling crooked cops, greedy politicians and violent thugs in the fictional town of Clarkesville in Oregon Cascade Mountains. Lehigh’s simple honesty causes his nemeses to underestimate his resolve as he fights to clear first his own name, then that of his fiancée, Stacy McBride, as they are accused of murdering the deputy who once made their lives miserable. As Lehigh continues his investigation, his doubts about Stacy’s innocence multiply—particularly when she appears to make romantic overtures to her ex-fianceé, attorney Paul van Paten, a leading member of the conspiracy against Lehigh. Cooperating with the only honest cop he knows in the county, Detective “Gentleman Jim” Wadsworth, Lehigh plays a high-stakes game of legal chicken to infiltrate the conspiracy and discover the truth behind Jared Barkley’s murder.

Book Tour

To help promote the book, the author will kick off a five-stop bookstore tour starting at a local favorite, Another Read Through, on the hip N. Mississippi Ave strip in Portland, February 9 at 6 PM. Corbin will sign books and read excerpts from his books, which will be available for sale at the event.

“I love local bookstores, and Another Read Through was one of the first to put my books on its shelves,” Corbin says. “It’s a great local bookstore that supports local independent authors. And it’s close to other great shops and restaurants, so people can make an evening of it – get dinner, have a glass of wine, maybe shop nearby.
