Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon presents animated short film about turtle "Tripod"
On the occasion of World Sea Turtle Day, the resort Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon is putting the spotlight on marine conservation - with the premiere of a specially produced animated film about the turtle "Tripod". The short story tells the story of a real hawksbill turtle that was born with only three flippers and today symbolizes hope, adaptation and the resilience of nature.Tripod lives in the resort's protected house reef and is regularly observed by guests and the marine biology team. Her first journey begins under the glow of the full moon as she makes her way from the beach into the open sea - despite physical limitations. Since then, she has often been spotted in the immediate vicinity of the resort and is regarded as a symbol of resilience and the harmonious interplay between nature and humans.
The film screening takes place on the resort's palm-fringed beach and is the highlight of a themed evening dedicated to marine species conservation. Guests will not only receive exclusive insights into the film, but also comprehensive information on the resort's ongoing sustainability initiatives. The event is aimed at anyone interested in environmental education, research and active protection of the marine world.
Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon's in-house marine biologist will provide an in-depth overview of current challenges facing sea turtles - such as the loss of breeding grounds, plastic pollution and rising water temperatures. At the same time, she presents specific projects at the resort, including programs for coral propagation, the identification of individual turtles via shell characteristics and the monitoring of reef health through continuous monitoring.
A special item on the program is the presentation of an exclusive, limited-edition T-shirt collection with a tripod motif. This will be sold through the resort's boutique store, with all proceeds going directly to local marine conservation projects. Guests who purchase one of these shirts are supporting long-term scientific and practical work to preserve the marine ecosystem - and taking home a symbolic souvenir at the same time.
An interactive information wall has also been installed in the area of the marine biology station. It not only pays tribute to the history of Tripod, but also invites guests to document their own sightings of the turtle. These observations are incorporated into a citizen science project that helps to record movement patterns and health conditions in the long term. In this way, every encounter with Tripod actively contributes to the protection of its species.
With the story of Tripod, the resort succeeds in making complex ecological relationships emotionally tangible. The combination of scientific precision, innovative storytelling and active guest participation exemplifies the understanding of sustainable tourism that Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon pursues.
The demonstration is part of the program with which the resort Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon takes its guests on a journey alongside the incomparable recreational experience. Conservation is a daily part of the team's work and they encourage their guests to get involved too. Recyclable, personalized bottles for each guest and the elimination of plastic is just one part of the high-quality, resource-conserving program.
"Tripod reminds us every day how strong, vulnerable and worthy of protection our oceans are. With this film, we not only want to inform, but also touch and connect," says the resort's management. "Those who come to us not only experience the beauty of the Maldives, but become part of a living conservation story."
