ADHD Mind Mapping Workshop June 28, 2025

ADHD Mind Mapping Workshop June 28, 2025

As local high school graduates and college students face mounting academic demands, Encinitas-based ADHD coach and author Michael Joseph Ferguson is launching a timely online workshop to teach a critical success skill: Mind Mapping. The live workshop, titled "ADHD Mind Mapping," is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, and is designed specifically to help students with ADHD and executive function challenges transform how they take notes, manage assignments, and stay organized.

"People with ADHD really struggle with managing their hyper-creative brains," says Ferguson, a pioneering voice in the ADHD neurodiversity movement and host of the popular podcast "Adult ADHD ADD Tips and Support." "Mind mapping is the tool I wish I had been taught in high school. It provides a more intuitive method of organizing and arranging thoughts. It's the antidote to traditional outlining techniques and I've seen it become a true game-changer for people with ADHD."

The live online workshop is designed specifically to help students with:
- Planning out their day
- Breaking down overwhelming tasks and projects
- Mapping out essays and complex assignments

Mind Mapping is a scientifically-backed approach to learning. Studies in publications such as the Journal of Applied Cognitive Psychology have shown that visual note-taking techniques can significantly improve long-term memory retention and the ability to synthesize complex information. This method is particularly effective for neurodivergent minds as it leverages creativity and non-linear thinking.

In addition to the live instruction, all participants will receive lifetime access to a mind mapping software program specifically tailored for people with ADHD.

The workshop is also open to any adult who struggles with task overwhelm, and a "Bring a Friend" option is available.

Workshop Details: Main Session: Saturday, June 28, 2025 | 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM Pacific Time Follow-Up Q&A: Tuesday, July 1, 2025 | 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM Pacific Time (Optional Q&A and make-up session)

Space is limited to ensure a quality, interactive learning environment.

ADHD Myths — What If There Really Isn’t Anything Wrong with ADHD Children?
February 6, 2006 (Washington, D.C.) - An ADHD diagnosis can often signal a lifetime of struggles for children. But consider the case of Robbie Raffino. Robbie used to rise every day like most eight-year-olds. He'd wipe the sleepiness from his eyes, throw on shorts and shirt that don't match and eat cereal while watching cartoons. But the innocence ended there. He'd swallow his Ritalin, hop on the school bus and enter
