Farmstead 1868 Hosts 2nd Lavender Festival, Showcasing Local Talent and Agritourism in Cazenovia

Farmstead 1868, recently named the 2025 Madison County Small Business of the Year, will host its 2nd Cazenovia Lavender Festival on Saturday and Sunday, July 5-6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its scenic farm property located at 4690 Shephards Rd. in Cazenovia.

The weekend event celebrates the peak of the lavender bloom with hands-on classes, live music, artisan vendors, and agricultural demonstrations that highlight the intersection of wellness, nature, and community.

More than 25 local businesses and artisans will participate in the event, including food trucks, musicians, chair massages by Safe Haven Healing, and demonstrators ranging from honeybee educators and perfume blenders to The British Blacksmith.

Signature classes include Honeybees 101, Natural Green Cleaning, DIY Lip Balm Making, and Flower Arranging with Brainard Farmette. BRiDGES is offering complimentary classes on Resilience & Thriving for adults which includes making a Warmable Lavender Teddy Bear.

New this year: A Storybook Walk around the pond, presented by Cazenovia Public Library, offers a family-friendly horticulture literacy adventure. On Sunday, July 6, guests can enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides by Lamplit Farm-a nostalgic experience perfect for families and lavender lovers of all ages. These scenic rides will offer exclusive access to parts of the farm never before open to the public, including breathtaking views of the expanse of Fenner farmlands, where riders can ponder what life was like farming back in 1868.

A full live music lineup featuring Will Galton, Laine Gilmore, Clove, Jonah Ladd & The Sunset Band, and Southy's Keys will run throughout the weekend, made possible by generous sponsorship from The Demario Agency.
