Outrage Erupts Over 2 Drink Minimum At JazzJoyandRoy.com

The various radio stations on The Jazz Joy and Roy Global Radio Network's JazzJoyandRoy.com are denying website access to all listeners who refuse to hydrate by drinking the equivalent of at least two 16 ounce bottles of water per listening day to maximize the listener's music appreciation capability. The network is also asking listeners to verify that they are over 18.

"I wanted to proverbially get out in front of this story, because the level of tennis prep workout energy our listeners are giving me these days by yelling at me and my little bitty staff about this policy change is through the roof," said JazzJoyandRoy.com founder Roy O'Dell Gray, who acknowledged, "Listeners never have and never will like being subjected to change, no matter how loving and necessary it is, but when my beautiful wife Kathy recently put on the (140) pounds her doctors needed her to gain by drinking a lot more water along with her temporary unconventional diet, which is now being slowly adjusted to include a bunch of healthier food, I felt I had to throw our listeners a version of this figurative hydration life jacket."

Gray is no stranger to listener backlash. The outspoken broadcaster was one of the few Black announcers to acknowledge OJ Simpson's guilt on the air during the height of the racially divisive trial.

The network says they are glad they rely solely on goodwill donations to the Bible Ball charity that underwrites its radio stations and are not beholden to advertisers and other special interests.

When reached for comment during a promo recording session and reminded that would-be donors might be turned off, Gray nodded thoughtfully, but said here are no plans at this time to change the new JazzJoyandRoy.com policy to appease the angry masses, many of whom have threatened to go to the media about the network.
