Step into a golden-hour hideaway with bold Mexican flavours, agave-fuelled cocktails, and skyline sunsets

Step into a golden-hour hideaway with bold Mexican flavours, agave-fuelled cocktails, and skyline sunsets

1 rooftop. 101 tequilas. Infinite stories.

Step into a golden-hour hideaway in the heart of Theatreland - where bold Mexican flavours, agave-fuelled cocktails, and skyline sunsets create a setting made for taking in the view - and becoming part of it.

London - 4th June 2025 - A striking new landmark in the city's rooftop landscape is set to arrive high above the buzz of Theatreland. Welcome to Miradora (from the Spanish word "mirador", meaning a viewpoint) - London's first rooftop tequileria, opening on Friday 20th June 2025 on the 10th floor of Assembly Hotel on Charing Cross Road. With skyline vistas that sweep across The Shard, Nelson's Column and the London Eye, this exciting new concept pays tribute to the vibrant soul of Mexico, brought to life with 101 expertly curated tequilas, colourful dishes bursting with flavour, and a social energy that's as intoxicating as the drinks.

From the team behind the innovative Zedwell hotel brand and some of London's most talked-about rooftops, Miradora is the latest destination from Criterion Hospitality. Known for designing immersive concepts that blend atmosphere with experience, their portfolio includes hits like the 1920s-inspired 1 Leicester Square Rooftop Bar and Restaurant - London's first of its kind. And now, with Miradora, they're raising the stakes - and the skyline - with their most exciting venue yet.

Miradora exists to bring people together over intense Mexican flavours, panoramic rooftop views, and the timeless ritual of sharing good tequila. From the moment you step inside, it's clear this isn't just another rooftop bar - it's an effortlessly chic yet elevated destination where every cocktail tells a story and every sunset sets the mood.

Designed to be as aesthetic as it is electric, the interiors are warm, inviting and totally Instagrammable, with nods to modern Mexican design, a statement graffiti mural by multidisciplinary artist and musician Sam Sure, and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the city like a living postcard.

The drinks? Let's just say you won't run out of options. Miradora's eclectic menu will showcase the full spectrum of tequila - from crisp blancos and complex añejos to small-batch mezcals and flavoured infusions - thanks to exclusive partnerships with industry icons like Casamigos, Don Julio, Patrón, Volcán, Clase Azul, 818 and more. But the bar doesn't stop there. Signature cocktails will include the Pineapple Serrano, a tropical-meets-spicy mix of Rooster Rojo Pineapple Tequila, strawberry, lime, agave and fresh pineapple; the Nectarine Dream, where Casamigos Reposado meets zesty citrus and smooth stone fruit; and the smoky, sultry Mezcal Mist, blending Koch Mezcal with Luxardo Amaretto, lime and ginger beer. Even the Espresso Martini gets a Mexican remix here, spiked with Cazcabel Coffee Tequila for that after-dark kick.

And because good tequila deserves great food, the kitchen - helmed in collaboration with hospitality maestro Danny Staples of DASS Hospitality - will be serving up modern Mexican plates designed to gather, share, and crave. The Masa Fried Chicken is pure joy on a plate: spiced buttermilk fried chicken paired with chipotle aioli, pink pickles and lime. Carne Asada brings the fire, with tender marinated steak, punchy salsa picante and a hit of fresh guac. For something fresh and light with a kick, the Ceviche Tostada layers citrus-cured cod with pineapple salsa, pomegranates and a crisp tortilla - the ultimate bite with a view. And for sweet endings? The Tequila & Citrus Sorbet topped with tajin and cracked pepper, served with an unapologetic shot of tequila, promises a finish you'll remember.

At Miradora, every day is a reason to celebrate. Saturdays will transform with the Casamigos 90's Bottomless Brunch - think retro beats, frozen margaritas and flowing bubbles from 12:00pm-6:00pm, while Friday and Saturday nights will heat up with live DJs spinning until late. Sundays will slow the tempo with the 'Tequila Makes Me Happy' Happy Hour, where guests can sip Agave Classics 2-for-£15 from 3:00pm-6:00pm. And of course, no self-respecting tequileria would skip Taco Tuesday - guests will be able to enjoy two tacos and a side for £25, perfect for an after-work pit stop.

For those looking to dine before catching a West End show, Miradora's new set menu - £25 for two courses or £30 for three - is as practical as it is delicious, designed for pre-theatre dinners, casual lunches or corporate catch-ups. Expect punchy flavours, lively atmosphere and smooth service that moves at your pace - whether you're in for a quick bite or an all-night celebration.

Miradora is a place where strangers become friends over mezcal, where birthdays are toasted with churros and cocoa fondue, and where the city looks just a little bit more magical through the bottom of a margarita glass. With plans to mark key Mexican holidays like Día de los Muertos and Cinco de Mayo, the venue promises to keep the fiesta going all year round.
