Sahara Energy International Geneva, a member of the global energy conglomerate, Sahara Group, participated in the 2025 edition of the prestigious Generali Genève Marathon, an iconic annual race in Switzerland to boost efforts geared towards driving energy sustainability across the globe.

Running for sustainability is a practice embraced at Sahara Group where employees engage in several race events to demonstrate the need for global action towards ensuring "safe and seamless access to energy for the future, and energy for all, leaving no one behind".

"Sahara Group's involvement in the marathon is not new. Year after year, Sahara Energy International in Geneva steps forward through its participation, showing commitment to collaboration and Making a Difference by supporting a cause that is critical to sustainable development across the globe," said Kola Motajo, Director, Sahara Group.

This year, 21 "Saharians" proudly flew the Sahara flag: Carine Albertini, Nicolas Mignot, Nathalie Musson, Jean-David Mencier, Antonio Urech, Alan Crayton, Gowtham Kesavan, Alexander Mireskandari, Angie Nesurini, Olga Torres Faro, Camille Lavaud, Angelita Benjamin, Ludivine Moisan, Maria Schurink, Romain Boucaumont, Arnaud Ritz, Victor Aham, Eécatl Lequesne, Alina-Luciana Spada, and Kola Motajo.

"Our participation in the Geneva Marathon is an example of how we walk the talk; showing up for the things that matter. By running for sustainability, we are lending our voices in support of partnerships, investments, interventions and policies that will contribute to safeguarding our planet for the benefit of all," Motajo added.

With a strong emphasis on eco-consciousness, the Generali Genève Marathon continues to lead by example. From reusable materials to plastic-free hydration and responsible sourcing, the event is recognized not only for its scale, but also for its environmental integrity.

Nicolas Mignot, Chief Finance Officer said, "it is always a privilege for me to run this spectacular marathon, knowing full well that every stride helps to change the world."

Sahara Group's celebrated marathon specialist, Didier Veron said, "I'm an avid participant in many race events. This one holds a special place in my heart. When I hit the tracks, all I see are possibilities for a better world where everyone's aspirations is backed by sustainable energy."

"I'm proud to be part of an organisation that encourages both personal well-being and environmental awareness. Now in its 19th edition, the Generali Genève Marathon welcomed over 25,000 participants from 138 nationalities, with spectators cheering from every corner of the city.
