Economist Lingyun Xiang Honored with Humanitarian Award

On April 27, 2025, Professor Lingyun Xiang, an economist in the United States and leading expert in artificial intelligence and emerging industry finance, was formally presented with the Humanitarian Award by the United Nations Association of the USA, Greater Coachella Valley Chapter, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in humanitarianism. In 2024, he was elected as a foreign academician of the National Academy of Engineering of Ukraine for his exceptional contributions to Ukraine's post-war reconstruction.

Economist Lingyun Xiang Honored with Humanitarian Award

At the invitation of the National Academy of Engineering of Ukraine, Professor Lingyun Xiang actively participated in restoring and reconstructing of the country's emerging industries and fintech systems. He proposed a series of practical policy recommendations and technological roadmaps, promoting the implementation of artificial intelligence in infrastructure management, intelligent manufacturing, and digital finance. His contributions have significantly accelerated Ukraine's post-war economic recovery.

The Humanitarian Award is intended to honor individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to alleviating human suffering, advancing human dignity, and promoting social progress. The certificate states that the award is presented "in recognition of exceptional efforts in aiding vulnerable populations, enhancing the human condition, alleviating the suffering of others, and demonstrating extraordinary dedication."

The award ceremony was organized by leaders of the United Nations Association: Barry Simon, Princess Karen Cantrell, and the organization Ike M. I. Khamisani. The international journalist and host Sandro Monetti stated, "Professor Lingyun Xiang is not only an outstanding scholar, but also a true practitioner of humanitarianism, demonstrating a global vision backed by real-world action."

Professor Lingyun Xiang stated that facing the global turbulence and challenges, it is the responsibility of intellectuals to "apply wisdom to healing and technology to reconstruction". He affirmed his commitment to continuing efforts toward global peace, development, and the integration of technology and humanity.
