Freevision Technologies Redefines Identification from

As Singapore's first and only ISO ICAR-certified manufacturer of RFID pet microchips, Freevision Technologies combines deep expertise in 125kHz and 134.2kHz RFID technologies with solid capabilities in NFC (13.56MHz) and UHF RFID. Although its compact in size, the company has spent the past 15 years focusing on proximity access and pet identification solutions - two domains where low-frequency RFID excels. Looking ahead, Freevision is expanding into UHF RFID for item-level tracking, with its new transponder IC scheduled for release in Q4 2025.

Headquartered in Singapore, Freevision Technologies has operations across the United States, China, and Europe with plans to expand into Japan by Q1 of 2026. An innovation-driven company, Freevision Technologies specializes in RFID and IoT-based identification technologies. The company is led by Mr. Winker, a seasoned expert with 23+ years of global experience in the RFID industry and the former China Regional Manager at EM Microelectronics. He played a key role in introducing passive RFID chips and 125kHz technologies to China, significantly influencing the development of the country's RFID ecosystem.

Technological Innovation with Purpose

Freevision is also a leading innovator in 125kHz RFID proximity access control. All of its proximity cards and tags are powered by Freevision's proprietary 125kHz RFID transponder ICs, which are manufactured at Global Foundries' wafer fab in Singapore. Each year, between 1.4 and 1.6 million units are shipped to the U.S. market alone.

Thanks to their highly compact IC design-only 30% the die size of leading competitors-Freevision is able to produce ultra-flat and ultra-thin ISO cards with no visible chip embossment. This unique capability is also what enables the creation of the world's smallest 1.22mm pet microchip, demonstrating the synergy between industrial access applications and implantable micro-technology.

"With over two decades in RFID, we've engineered one of the world's smallest and most advanced RFID microchips-demonstrating that true innovation isn't about size, but impact," said Mr. Winker, CEO of Freevision Technologies. "At Freevision, we design identification technologies that meet the highest standards of performance, interoperability, and humane, user-centered design."

Freevision's proprietary technologies span across pet identification, access control, and asset lifecycle management. Freevision's 1.25 times 7mm pet microchip has been sold in volume globally and has achieved over 1 million units shipped to the U.S. market in the past eight years-with a perfect zero-defect record. Its upcoming 1.22 times 7.65mm model will be the smallest pet microchip in the world to date. While the diameter is reduced by only 0.03mm, the increase in length by 0.65mm allows the chip to achieve longer read distances than its predecessor. The reduced diameter enables compatibility with 17G injection needles-the smallest medical-grade needles for pet microchipping-dramatically reducing the pain and discomfort associated with microchip implantation in animals. This innovation sets a new benchmark for both minimally invasive design and high performance in pet-friendly identification technology.

All pet microchips are ICAR-certified. In addition, Freevision's 125kHz multi-protocol transponder IC-designed and manufactured at Global Foundries' wafer fab in Singapore-has shipped nearly 500 million units globally over the past 14 years, and is widely adopted in access control, hotel keycards, and certain pet identification applications.

Smart Tags and Seamless Pet Reunification

Freevision goes beyond microchips with its Smart Tag system-a digital layer that enhances pet identification and reunification. Through NFC- and QR-enabled wearable tags linked to secure cloud services, pet owners and stakeholders can access and manage essential pet information efficiently-without the need for proprietary scanners.

In jurisdictions like Singapore, where microchip registration and pet owner data are managed by government-run systems, Freevision fully respects regulatory frameworks and data governance requirements. The Smart Tag system is designed not to replace official databases, but to complement them where permitted, by offering user-friendly tools that support responsible pet ownership. Freevision is committed to operating in a legal, ethical, and cooperative manner-working alongside authorities and industry partners to co-develop compliant, privacy-conscious solutions for the benefit of all.

Building a Truly Global Operation - From Singapore Outward

In 2025 and beyond, Freevision will expand its global footprint by establishing regional partnerships across North America, China, Japan, Europe, Southeast Asia, and South America. All global operations will be anchored in Singapore as the company's financial and supply chain operations center, while sales, marketing, and distribution strategies are localized through regional partnerships to best fit each target market.

"At Freevision, we're redefining identification from Singapore to the world-combining deep RFID expertise with a relentless focus on innovation, performance, and pet-friendly design," said Mr. Winker. "From ultra-compact proximity chips to next-gen Smart Tags, our technologies are built for a connected future-without compromising on reliability or compassion."

Freevision is set to launch a new UHF RFID transponder IC by Q4 2025 through strategic collaboration with experienced chip design partners, as Freevision does not engage in chip design in-house. This chip delivers radio performance comparable to leading global suppliers and is free of patent entanglements, making it an ideal choice for global deployment by UHF tag manufacturers and system integrators seeking scalable, compliant, and high-performance solutions for item-level tracking and digital transformation.
