ISO delivers AFTN Solution to Salzburg Airport
Salzburg Airport, Austria, awarded a contract to ISO Software Systeme for the implementation of a new AFTN interpreter solution for their Airport Operational Database (AODB) SKY-Base.The new component makes the international air traffic control network AFTN accessible to the airport operator as an important source for time-critical flight information. It will contribute to the improvement of data quality and accuracy of planning. Among the message types to be processed are FPL (Flight Plan Message), DLA (Delay Message) or SAM (Slot Assignment Message). As further options NOTAM and weather messages may be stored ion the database.
The AFTN interpreter receives standard messages from the AFTN network and makes their contents available to the AODB and the flight plan applications. Within the framework of ISO’s SKY-Connect suite of communication facilities it soon will be available in the market as basis for add-on components of SKY-Base.
Salzburg Airport, Austria’s second largest airport, handled about 2 Million passengers in 2007 and has successfully implemented software solutions by ISO since 1988.
