I used to spent a lot of time with popular companion platforms like Replika and Character AI, seeing both their potential and limits. They opened the door to AI companionship, but I always felt that something was missing: text-to-text lacked depth and felt superficial. I wanted was something that felt more alive, more spontaneous, and more human.

That's why my team and I built Endearing. Endearing is different. Instead of just sending text messages, the main form of communication is through snapping pictures back and forth just like you would with someone on Snapchat.
