The findings from the relevant study concluded that BHT is safe for use in weaned piglets and hens when added at the maximum recommended level of 150 mg/kg of total feed. This conclusion was extended to include birds raised for egg production and pigs raised for fattening. Consequently, the EFSA approved the use of Lanxess' BHT in animal feed.
