Actress Alison Arngim Speaks about Child Abuse at Charity Event

Volunteers will also be Honored for Helping Foster Care Children in Los Angeles

WHO: Actress Alison Arngrim is best known to viewers for her portrayal of the incredibly nasty "Nellie Oleson" on "Little House On The Prairie." Arngrim is the keynote speaker at the annual awards ceremony for Hillsides, a 95-year foster care children’s charity in Pasadena.

Arngrim segued into stage work, and most currently can be seen as a stand-up comedian performing her one-woman show, “Confessions of a Prairie Bitch.” Also an activist for AIDS Project Los Angeles and the National Association to Protect Children, Arngrim advocates to bring awareness, education, and legislative changes to AIDS, child abuse, and molestation.

Volunteers that will be honored at the foster care children’s charity event, Hillsides Annual Angel Awards Ceremony include:

• Rusnak Auto Group (Paul Rusnak and Elizabeth Rusnak Arizmendi), Hillsides Community Angel Award
• Jacob Maarse Floral Design (Jacob Maarse and Hank Maarse), Hillsides Angel Award

Special Recognition Awards presented to:
• Pasadena resident Barbara Robison, Hillsides Board and Guild Member
• Tokio Marine Insurance in Pasadena
• Hillsides Volunteer Network members Stephen and Susan Wittmer

WHAT: Annual Angel Awards Ceremony is presented by Hillsides. As a Pasadena foster care charity celebrating its 95th Anniversary, Hillsides creates safe places for children at risk and their families by providing residential care, mental health services to break the cycle of domestic violence, special education, and advocacy.
