The Piney Woods TimberHogs have announced a leadership change, hiring J.T. Rogoszewski to lead the organization as General Manager and naming Steve Maddock as Field Manager for the 2025 season.
J.T. Rogoszewski, a former collegiate player at UNC-Chapel Hill and Central Michigan, brings experience from top collegiate summer leagues and a strong background in sports management through various roles in operations, marketing, and business development.
"I'm thrilled to lead the TimberHogs into our second season by bringing quality baseball and a fun and entertaining game experience to East Texas," said Rogoszewski. "This region's pride and passion for the game are clear. With an outstanding team behind me, we'll deliver a fantastic game-day atmosphere and stay engaged in the community, providing affordable family entertainment in East Texas for years ahead."
Rogoszewski's first move was the hiring of Steve Maddock as the TimberHogs Field Manager. Maddock, currently the head baseball coach at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, brings extensive experience from coaching at various levels, including high school, collegiate, and professional. Last season, he managed the Fort Smith Marshals in the Mid-America League's inaugural year.
"I'm thrilled to have Steve lead our squad this summer. He has a wealth of experience leading and developing players," said General Manager J.T. Rogoszewski. "He's the perfect addition to our organization. I can't wait to see him take the reins with the goal of bringing a Mid-America League [https://midamericaleague.com/] Championship to the Piney Woods region."
Maddock echoed the enthusiasm surrounding the TimberHogs' upcoming season, expressing his excitement about the opportunity ahead. "I'm excited to join the TimberHogs and lead this team in our second season," said Maddock. "I look forward to developing our players, competing at a high level, and bringing exciting baseball to Piney Woods. The fans, the community, and the energy surrounding this team make it a special place to be, and I can't wait to get started."
With Rogoszewski leading the front office and Maddock at the helm on the field, the TimberHogs are set for an exciting second season in White Oak. Fans can expect a competitive team, an electric atmosphere, and an unforgettable summer of baseball. As the countdown to opening day begins, excitement is building for what promises to be a special year for TimberHogs baseball.
The TimberHogs' home, White Oak Ballpark, features fixed seating for 800 people, multiple party and picnic areas and a pristine natural playing surface.
