H2Plus Achieves Major Breakthrough in PFAS Contamination Reduction through Successful Field Trial in Michigan Landfill
Image: https://www.globalnewslines.com/uploads/2025/03/485ddd4e1e2d5926a0f7274449f904e1.jpgH2Plus, a pioneering startup committed to environmental innovation, has announced the successful conclusion of an on-site pilot study at a landfill in Michigan, showcasing its revolutionary water treatment process designed to eliminate per and poly fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from contaminated waters. This groundbreaking technology, devised by H2Plus, demonstrated unparalleled efficiency in reducing hazardous PFAS levels, achieving a significant milestone in sustainable water treatment.
During the field trial, the H2Plus treatment process remarkably decreased perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) levels from 1885 ng/L to an outstanding 2.9 ng/L and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) levels from 1214.9 ng/L to 37.3 ng/L. These results affirm the technology's ability to address both long and short-chain PFAS effectively across various water types, including potable, well, and landfill leachate waters.
One of the distinguishing features of the H2Plus process is its cost-effectiveness. At just $0.10 per gallon, the technology offers significant savings compared to competitive methods such as Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Filtration at $0.26 per gallon and Foam Fractionation at $0.24 per gallon.
"Our successful pilot trial in Michigan is a testament to H2Plus's commitment to transforming environmental challenges into opportunities for innovation," said Scott Canino, Chief Operating Officer of H2Plus. "This breakthrough not only reaffirms our technology's efficacy but also positions H2Plus as a leader in the fight against PFAS contamination, providing affordable and scalable solutions for industries and communities worldwide."
The H2Plus process effectively neutralizes PFAS even when present in foamate, offering versatile applications across diverse environmental scenarios. With proven results substantiated by independent studies, H2Plus is poised to redefine industry standards for PFAS remediation.
To further engage with potential clients and stakeholders, H2Plus invites environmental engineering firms, industry leaders, and interested parties to an exclusive Industry Day event in April 2025. Attendees will experience firsthand the capabilities of H2Plus technology and gain insights into its operational success.
