AGROsolution publishes an interesting field trial result (GEP) on the product NovaFerm® Multi. The 3-year study (according to GEP) underpins the reduction potential of metabolites and pesticide residues by microorganisms using the example of glyphosate.

The use of NovaFerm® Multi leads to a significant reduction of pollutants in the soil! The 3-year, accredited GEP trial with NovaFerm® Multi shows that despite the annual application of 4.5 kg/ha AMPA (glyphosate), the contamination of the soil decreased significantly by 1.5 - 2.0 mg/kg soil/year. This effect accelerated from year to year due to microbial accumulation in the soil. In the control area, the contamination with AMPA hardly changed, 0.2 - 0.3 mg/kg soil/year, which results from the natural biodegradation potential of the soil.

In conclusion, it makes sense to strengthen and improve the soil biology with NovaFerm®Multi in order to "detoxify" the soil, the groundwater, the environment and thus our staple foods.

After all, intact soils and healthy microflora and microfauna are the basis for successful crop cultivation. Careful use of the natural resources of soil, water and air is vital for all organisms on our planet. The agricultural professionals at AGROsolution advocate that the protection of these vital resources should be an absolute priority in our day-to-day activities and in agriculture!

However, many decades of industrial agriculture have left clear traces in the environment. They are directly linked to a number of human diseases as well as intolerances and irreparable environmental damage. This damage also includes active substance metabolites and slowly degradable residues of plant protection products, e.g. glyphosate or athrazine.

Both active ingredients have been the subject of public debate for many years and are considered pathogenic and carcinogenic.

Various studies and experiments are being carried out to filter these contaminants out of the soil and the environment. The aim is to use biosorption and bioremediation to make contaminated land and water free of pollutants again. Bacteria, fungi, algae and plants play an important role in this process. These processes are very complex and depend on many factors. The aim is to completely break down a pollutant and, if necessary, leave behind harmless residues.

In a 3-year study (according to GEP) on 5 different soil types, BioPlant Chemie Kft. and its partner Agrosolution GmbH, in cooperation with accredited laboratories, proved that the active substance AMPA (aminomethyl-phosphonic acid, glyphosate) could be degraded multisignificantly with the help of the soil bacterial preparation NovaFerm®. AMPA has a half-life of 10 - 15 years. During the trial, the plots were treated annually with a total of 4.5 kg/ha AMPA, divided into 3 doses. At the start of vegetation in March, the plots were sprayed once with 2.5 kg/ha NovaFerm® Multi. At the start of vegetation and at the end of vegetation, 3 GPS-supported soil samples, totaling 5 kg soil/ha, were taken per plot for analysis purposes.

NovaFerm® Multi is an innovative soil additive based on spore bacteria that are particularly environmentally stable. The product combines several advantages: decomposers, air nitrogen fixation, nutrient mobilization, soil health and soil vitalization, support for overall plant growth, increased disease and stress tolerance.

An overview study (2021) by the University of Kassel (among others) on the effects of glyphosate on microbiomes and the health of plants, animals and humans provided an overview of the residues in soil, water and all types of food for animals and humans. The concentrations in animal feed were particularly high. According to these studies, glyphosate accumulates in the bones, liver and kidneys and remains in the intestines of the rats tested at the time. Humans come into contact with glyphosate through ground by-products from slaughtered animals and plant products that have been treated with glyphosate. DNA research has shown that up to 26% of human gut bacteria are sensitive to glyphosate and the authors of the study believe that tolerable residues in human and animal food should be lowered to minimize harm. There are also concerns about the health of drinking water. Crops grow less well on soil fertilized with glyphosate, which would also endanger circular agriculture (source: University of Kassel, campus news, 26.10.2021).

Over 25,000 conventional and organic farms from more than 12 countries are already convinced users of AGROsolution products. The company has been committed to innovative fertilizer technology and plant strengthening solutions in agriculture and horticulture for over 16 years. There is a patent and numerous scientific proofs in many, long-term test series. Another important foundation stone for solid growth was laid in 2014 with the construction of the production facility in Linz. The product range was subsequently expanded to include biostimulants. They strengthen the plants' growth, improve nutrient uptake and increase their stress tolerance to biotic and abiotic influences. The Linz-based company produces its own brands at its own state-of-the-art production facility in Linz and works with the largest agricultural traders in Europe.
