A Critical Mission: Empowering Foster Care Survivors
Each year, approximately 280,000 children are in the foster care system, with around 25,000 aging out without support or family. Without proper guidance, many face homelessness, and substance abuse, as a means of survival. People Reach Out on Foster Care is committed to changing this reality by providing education, essential resources, and a much-needed safety net to empower these individuals.
Mental health challenges affect 70% of those who have experienced foster care, yet only 20% apply for college, and just 3% complete a four-year degree or trade school education. By participating in this fundraiser, attendees will directly contribute to programs that offer housing, food, medical and dental care, daycare, transportation, and educational resources.
