Bike Friday Launches the World's Lightest Bosch E-Bike
The All-Day brings the world's most high-performing and reliable electric bike system to the family-owned custom bike brand that has empowered globe-trotting adventurers since 1992.
"We've built more than 40,000 bikes in our 32-year history, and I'm proud to present the All-Day as yet again a world first. Designing to meet the needs of our customers in a way that our partnership with Bosch makes newly possible!" says Bike Friday CEO Hanna Scholz. "Customers have been asking for a U.L. certified Bosch e-bike. Now, after more than a year of design work, prototyping, and field testing, we are proud to deliver an ultralight e-bike that combines the reliability of Bosch with the repairability, sustainability and customer satisfaction of Bike Friday frames."
Weighing just 33 pounds with the SRAM Apex AXS wireless shifting option, the All-Day is the world's lightest Bosch-equipped e-bike, designed for a versatile range of uses from easy commuting to ultralight e-bike touring all while packing into an airline-checkable suitcase.
Designed and engineered in collaboration with Vapor Propulsion Labs (VPL), the official North American distributor and integration specialists for Bosch eBike Systems, the All-Day frame utilizes a "unique design with an exoskeleton node that allows the motor to pivot to tension a chain or Gates belt drive," says VPL co-founder Zach Krapfl.
"This is a completely new way to package the SX motor within a frame, raising the bar for what a high-performance folding bike can be," Krapfl says.
