A Life of Service Turned into a Battle for Survival
Alex began his nursing career in 2015 when he achieved his dream of working in New York City. His dedication to caring for others gave him purpose, and together with his wife, he worked tirelessly to build a promising future. But in 2021, his world was shattered when he was diagnosed with lung cancer that had already spread to his liver. https://gofund.me/e6072b3c
Determined to fight, Alex underwent countless tests, biopsies, and treatments. Then, in a cruel twist of fate, he contracted COVID-19, which nearly ended his battle. Miraculously, he survived, and in 2022, he began targeted therapy that stabilized his tumor. It felt like a victory-he returned to work and resumed caring for his patients. However, in March 2024, his worst fears were realized when the cancer returned with even greater force.
The disease has since progressed aggressively, leading to bilateral lung tumors and vocal cord paralysis. Despite participating in a clinical trial, his tumors continue to spread. Now, unable to work and without financial resources, Alex is struggling to afford treatment.

With his health insurance exhausted, disability benefits maxed out, and savings depleted, Alex is facing his toughest challenge yet-not just fighting cancer, but fighting to afford the care that could save his life.
