Singapore’s RoHS applies to the following categories of EEE:

• Mobile phones
• Portable computers
• Refrigerators
• Air conditioners
• Panel televisions
• Washing machines

The new regulations require the following substances and their compounds to be restricted to the following amounts:

• Cadmium and its compounds Less than 0.01%
• Hexavalent chromium Less than 0.1%
• Lead and its compounds Less than 0.1%
• Mercury and its compounds Less than 0.1%
• Polybrominated biphenyls Less than 0.1%

The new restrictions compel manufacturers, traders and importers to provide a declaration letter and technical documentation, proving the products compliance with EN 50581:2012 standard, or otherwise prove compliance with the National Environment Agency’s (NEA) requirements. The letter and documentation must be retained and should be produced upon request by the NEA.
