Organ Recital at The Presbyterian Church in Westfield, NJ

The Presbyterian Church of Westfield, located at 140 Mountain Avenue, Westfield, NJ invites you to hear Jason Klein perform an organ recital on Sunday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Church Sanctuary. He will be playing a variety of music, including pieces from artists Bach, Dupre, Ferko, Leighton, Mendelssohn and Strayhorn.

All members of the community, young and old, are invited to attend this free concert. What a great way to introduce children to organ music!

Jason R. Klein was called as Director of Music to the Presbyterian Church in Westfield, New Jersey in July of 2007. He came to PCW after serving as Minister of Music at Christ Lutheran Church in San Diego, CA since 2004.

Jason studied Organ and Church Music at Northwestern University with Dr. David Craighead and Margaret Kemper. While there, he was named Merrill Scholar for Musical and Academic Excellence. Later he studied organ with Dr. David Christiansen and Choral Conducting with Dr. Kurt Amolsch at Concordia University in Illinois.

Respected as a Church Music Consultant with an edge towards Gen-Xer’s, Mr. Klein has performed and worked with churches in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, Texas and Wisconsin. From 2006-2007, Mr. Klein was part of a five member team that introduced the new hymnal of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Evangelical Lutheran Worship, throughout the Pacifica Synod of the ELCA. He has served on the Worship Committees as Synod Assembly leader and as staff resource person for the Metro-Chicago Synod (ELCA) and of the Pacifica Synod (ELCA).
