Author Brings African Village to Life in Inspiring Children's Book
Houston, TX - December 24, 2024 - Author Sanyu Ntanda invites young readers on an unforgettable journey to an African village in her heartwarming new children's book, Jama and the Search for Courage. "I wanted to write a with a universal message while authentically rooting it in the African village," says Ntanda. "So often, African settings are overlooked or sidelined. My goal was to highlight the richness, culture, and vibrancy of village life while giving children everywhere a story they can relate to."
Sanyu Ntanda, a Ugandan-American storyteller, draws inspiration from her upbringing in Ghana and Uganda, as well as her life in the United States. Through her writing, she bridges cultures and celebrates diversity, crafting stories that resonate across generations and continents.
Jama and the Search for Courage is more than just a book; it is an invitation to see African landscapes and traditions through a new lens. By placing the African village at the heart of the narrative, Ntanda challenges stereotypes and offers children of all backgrounds a chance to connect with and celebrate a vibrant part of the world.
The book is set for release in February 2025 and is aimed at children aged 4 to 9. With its colorful illustrations and compelling storyline, it promises to be a cherished addition to homes and classrooms worldwide.
