5. Pony Forum Open Sales: A small jubilee celebration - yet a wide selection of ponies

For the fifth time the Ponyforum Open Sales (POS) will take place this coming spring. This small jubilee will be celebrated at the Equestrian Centre in Standenbühl from Thursday, 10th April to Sunday, 13th April 2008.
The promising motto is once again ‘Time for Champions’ as numerous champions will be represented at the exclusive auction. Finalists from the German Championships, current State Champions and encouraging young novice ponies with enormous potential will be available for purchase. Alongside these ‘crackers’, high quality riding ponies for beginners will be well represented in the lot and will be available for less than 10.000 Euros.
In the equestrian world, this Open Sales event has earned itself a deserved place in the diaries of national and international breeders and experts. This was to be seen in the success of the previous auction last year. Over 80% of the offered ponies from sporting circles changed hands (37 from 41 entered) and the top price of 53.000 Euros was paid for the exceptional 5-year old stallion Holsteins Wellness, that was sold to new owners in Great Britain. Further success can be reported from Orpheus, a pony from the very first Open Sales, that reached third place in the yearly national rankings of winnings for dressage ponies in 2007. This news certainly testifies the high level of ponies presented at the Open Sales.

There will be a wide selection of over 40 ponies from the sporting scene at the above-mentioned auction, giving potential buyers and enthusiasts a wide spectrum to make their choices from. A fair balance of top-class show ponies from the highest levels, much in demand at present, together with well-schooled ponies for novice riders (which are also being sought after with great interest) are to be seen at the equestrian centre in Standenbühl. As previously, all of the ponies for sale (without exception) are owned by members of the breeding societies. They have all been thoroughly schooled and can be ridden at any time by children of different levels of equestrian ability. This factor gives a wide range of choice. The organizers of the Open Sales give prospective purchasers the chance to view and try out an interesting number of ponies of the same level. The facilities at the centre are ideal and buyers can take their time over the four days to let the ponies be ridden and to discuss details with the owners/breeders.
Owing to the interest and demand shown at sales in the past, appointments will be given to try out the ponies only when a time and date has been made previously.

The Open Sales will commence with a spectacular opening Gala Evening on Thursday, 10th April 2008 at 7.00 pm. On this occasion the collection of ponies in sport will be presented in a festive manner and a demonstration of their individual abilities will be given. Directly after the performance, the ponies may be ridden and tried out.

Ponyforum GmbH is the organization responsible for the Open Sales. This professional marketing platform is made up of the cooperation of the six German Pony Breeding Associations: Schleswig-Holstein/Hamburg, Hanover, Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Rhineland-Pfalz-Saar.
