Accellion Introduces Free Secure File Transfer for University Students

February 18, 2008— Accellion, Inc. (accellion.com), the leading provider of on-demand secure file transfer solutions for enterprise users, today announced a global education initiative that offers free user licenses to university students anywhere in the world. Through this initiative, Accellion will provide free user licenses to students at universities and educational institutions that license the Accellion Secure File Transfer Solution for their faculty and staff.

Extending the Accellion Secure File Transfer solution to students provides them with a fast and easy way to collaborate with faculty, staff and other students on academic work. It also minimizes the impact large file transfers have on the school’s email network and reduces information security risks associated with the use of un-secure electronic file transfer workarounds such as FaceBook, MySpace, Skype and P2P.

Accellion’s education initiative was developed in response to requests from universities to simplify the traditionally cumbersome process of transferring large files, not only by faculty but between faculty and students.
