Sintered Steel

Sintered steel components are manufactured by compacting and then sintering metallic steel powder to the shape of the desired component. Sinter hardened steel has an apparent hardness of up to 45 HRC and particle hardness up to 57 HRC. The sintering process is used to manufacture complex shapes such as frontal geometries, splines, gear teeth, and other complex profiles. Sintered steel is generally used to manufacture machine components that are exposed to high temperatures and corrosive work environments.
