Greenlight Analytical secures funding to further develop

Greenlight Analytical Inc. (GLA) (www.greenlightanalytical.com), a cutting-edge ag-tech start-up company revolutionizing on-site crop testing with its advanced analytical instrument, is pleased to announce that it has received federal support to continue developing and moving its product to market.

Greenlight Analytical's solution, HarvestIQ (www.greenlightanalytical.com/harvestiq), will have advanced capabilities to measure the health, quality, and safety of plants as they grow, giving growers the tools they need to optimize their crops' quality, and make data-driven decisions to boost profitability. HarvestIQ will play a critical role in supporting the future of high-value crops, vertical farming, and sustainable biofuel production by providing real-time, actionable analytical results. Rapid detection in the field will allow biofuel producers to ensure the corn being used for ethanol production is free of toxins, improving the economic viability of ethanol production and protecting the food supply.

The Government of Canada, through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) (www.canada.ca/en/atlantic-canada-opportunities.html), is providing GLA with a $472,000 non-dilutive, repayable contribution to acquire data analysis expertise, implement data processing software, and move its operations to a larger facility. These activities will support research and development, scale-up and commercialization of HarvestIQ.

Dr. James Wylde, GLA's Founder and CEO, highlighted the importance of the ACOA contribution in accelerating the company's growth in the evolving agricultural landscape: "as agriculture continues to advance, optimizing crops for quality, potency, output, and consistency will be even more critical for growers to stay competitive and differentiate their brands. The support from ACOA will drive commercialization of HarvestIQ, enabling us to scale our business and continue innovating to meet the needs of the agriculture and ag-tech industries."

"Helping ag-tech start-up companies develop and commercialize game-changing solutions like HarvestIQ is key to meeting global food and energy demands. Forward-thinking innovations like this are empowering growers to produce more with less, and supporting safe, high-quality food," says Darren Fisher, Member of Parliament for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour, speaking on behalf of the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA.
