2024 "The Belt and Road" Innovation and Intellectual Property Protection Seminar for Middle and Senior Managers Opens in Chongqing

On November 18, 2024 "The Belt and Road" Innovation and Intellectual Property Protection Seminar for Middle and Senior Managers was held at Chongqing University of Technology. Twenty-five participants from Laos and Vietnam attended the event.

The attendees primarily consist of technical officials and heads from departments such as the Intellectual Property Department of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos and the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam. The 30-day training will focus on topics such as the dynamics developments in intellectual property protection and development in China,theories and practices of intellectual property, and international intellectual property protection.

At the opening ceremony, Liao Linqing, The Vice President of Chongqing University of Technology, introduced that the university's College of Intellectual Property is the first independent institution in the central and western regions of china for cultivating and training intellectual property talents. The China National Intellectual Property Administration has established the National Intellectual Property Training (Chongqing) Base at Chongqing University of Technology, which has hosted over 80 sessions for domestic and international participants, benefiting more than 20,000 people. Moreover, the university has collaborated with institutions such as the National University of Laos and Sichuan University to initiate the establishment of the Western Land-Sea New Corridor Intellectual Property University Alliance.

It is reported that this training program is one of the key projects supported by the Chongqing Municipal Government's Silk Road Program under the Mayor's Scholarship for Foreign Students. Since 2012, Chongqing University of Technology has established "The Belt and Road" Research Institute for Intellectual Property and Innovation Development and has successfully organized "The Belt and Road" training program for intellectual property in co-build countries for six consecutive times.
